The wine and vacation village of
Appenweier / Nesselried is situated in a picturesque area at the foot of the mountains where
gentle hills rise between the valley of the Rhine and the Black Forest.
Many walking trails start in Nesselried and lead you through the golden wine growing area and the smooth mountainous
region of the Black Forest.
We can supply you in the morning with the necessary trail maps and with a great Black Forest
picnic for your walk.
Bikers can chose between easy biking trails through the Rhine valley or sporty touring trails
by mountain bike up and downhill through the Black Forest.
Bikes can, by the way, be put at your disposal free of charge by arangement.
Motorbike riders are invited to enjoy the view of this fascinating landscape by driving along
the "Schwarzwaldhochstraße" (the highest road on top of the mountains).
Motor cycles will be securely garaged when not in use.
If you enjoy swimming in the summer, there are numerous public swimming pools suitable to meet
your needs.
It is not only the beauty of the landscape, which makes our region so attractive. The convenient
location is always appreciated by our guests, because it provides easy accsess to other attractive
venues, either in the Alsace region or in the Black Forest.
Enjoy delicious wines in one of our numerous wine grower's cooperatives or private wine growing
estates along the "Badische Weinstraße" (wine road through Baden). The Staufenberg Castle with its
wine cellar is only about a 45 minutes walk away from us.
